Aside from standard tuning services, it’s important to consider other forms of foundational maintenance to maximize the playability and tone production of your piano.
Pianos are very mechanically complex instruments - spread across 88 keys, a piano can have almost 10,000 moving parts. Adjusting, maintaining, and optimizing these parts for playability is referred to as “Piano Regulation”. This often overlooked aspect of piano maintenance can have an incredible impact on your connection to the instrument. When a piano is at its best, it not only sounds great - it feels great.
About Your Piano Technician
As a lifelong musician, I understand the impact having a well tuned and maintained piano can have - not only on the sound and feel of an instrument, but also how it enhances the enjoyment and quality of your playing.
After completing the Piano Tuning and Repair course from the Piano Technician Academy, I began apprenticing under Jim Anderson - not only the University of Victoria’s piano technician, but one of the most most experienced and respected piano technicians on Vancouver Island. Under Jim’s guidance I’ve had the privilege to not only work on world class concert grands, but to also gain a breadth of experience working on heavily used pianos in need of constant maintenance.
Whether a humble heirloom upright, or a concert grand, I will use my skill and care to bring out the best in your instrument.
